Kinderhook Farm offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience rural life on a beautiful twelve hundred acre working farm only 2 1/2 hours north of NYC, just 15 minutes north of Hudson, NY. We are located in the heart of the fertile Hudson Valley, bathed in the light that inspired the Hudson River School painters.

FarmStay visitors can choose to be as relaxed or as active in farm life as they like. There are also many local activities to explore - kayaking, hiking, swimming, antiquing, theater, music and art galleries.
We hope all visitors will gain an understanding of the relationship between the food they eat and how it's grown. Our farm is dedicated to the concept of sustainable farming, responsible land stewardship and to the welfare of our animals.

Enjoying our FarmStay
Our FarmStay is fun for anyone with an interest in the farm experience, nature and the outdoors, or spending time in a beautiful pastoral setting. Our FarmStay Barn is rustic yet elegant - filled with sturdy, child proof antiques. It is located way back behind Kinderhook Farm's main entrance, where the hills and pastures roll out breathtaking vistas of grazing sheep and cows.
Children (of all ages!) who visit our farm love to collect the eggs in the morning and help wash and box them for sale in the FarmStore. They enjoy tagging along with Georgia to check the new lambs and calves in the pastures. There are baby chicks who need feeding and gardens to tend and vegetables to pick for meals. Hiking the farm and splashing around in one of our secret swimming holes is a favorite afternoon activity. There are horseshoes to throw and hammocks to nap in.
Young farmers are excited to experience sustainable farming up close. They learn about pasture rotation, the importance of grasses, the raising of chickens and what makes for a healthy, thriving animal.
Our FarmStay is also a great place to spend a romantic weekend. What could be more romantic than dining al fresco in the throes of a spectacular sunset? Or sleeping with the barn doors wide open to capture the moon as it moves slowly over the crest of the hill.
Kinderhook Farm is a busy place from early morning, when the rooster crows and the FarmStore opens, until dark, when the chickens are locked up safe in their coops. There are tractors rolling in and out, horses being groomed, and people always stopping by to say hello.
Families, friends. foodies, aspiring farmers, artists, photographers, writers will all feel nurtured and inspired in our bucolic surroundings. We are confident that all will enjoy their stay with us on the farm.
